Music Reviews — 13 June 2010

Recently, I’ve been listening to some of his new record on YouTube and one thing I have to say is that I’m very disappointed! At some point in every writers career it becomes harder to keep up with the demand for their writings. The pressure to write (or lack of drugs in Eminem’s case) has taken away the creative edge the artist once had.

All the hype surrounding the artist and hard work it takes to make it big has drained Eminem of his creative and competitive edge. Guys like Lil Wayne are having larger success with a more simplified creative approach. Rhyming words together like latex and late text. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that Eminem isn’t successful, I’m just saying that his music doesn’t appeal to me anymore. I’ve listened to Rap music since it’s creation and his best records are a thing of the past. Remember The Marshall Mathers LP?

It seems that he has finally put his inner demons to rest, and that’s a good thing for Marshall Mathers. Unfortunately for me and others like me, Eminem has changed into something we can no longer recognize or relate to.
