Apple has done it again. Everything you ever dreamed of when you were a kid, Apple makes happen. Remember the Jetsons? I’m beginning to think of Steve Jobs as the character “Cosmo Spacely” owner of Spacely’s Sprockets, and his newest invention to hit the markets is the new Apple TV. Together the Apple TV, the latest update to iOS version 4.1 for the iPhone, really change the game, again. Bill Gates…are you listening? I don’t think so.
The newest version of the Apple TV has many good things and the price is one of them, coming in hot at $99. The Apple TV also uses the same i4 chip used in the iPad. Size is also a good selling point here as it will fit in the palm of your hand and can be easily tucked away in your entertainment center somewhere. Great for space and can easily be taken to an unlucky friends house, who hasn’t purchased their very own Apple TV yet.
Another new feature that the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch owners will appreciate is the ability to stream from your mobile device directly into your new Apple TV (with the next iOS update). Imagine the possibilities here. Try this one on for size. You go to a friends house for a party and the pretty girls are starting to leave because the music is kind of lame (been there), that’s when you (iPhone owner) come in to save the day and stream that funky music (perhaps Bill Hustle’s 3 Funky Grams for example) that’s on your iPod to the Apple TV (jukebox) and the party begins to shine (done that). The booty’s are beginning to move and now your the life of the party, of course Steve Jobs deserves his props here, but the moment is yours now, and your friend will be in debt to your forever.
Now that your almost sold on Apple’s newest product, lets move on to some of the other features that will be appealing to the consumer. Apple TV is also compatible with Netflicks, Mobile Me, and of course iTunes. Streaming movies has never been easier. So how would Bill Hustle utilize such a product? Well everyone knows that Bill knows media, and media is what the Apple TV is all about. First, store everything in iTunes, including your movies that have converted to MP4 format and now what you have here is a virtual jukebox of streaming movies and music. Second, store all of your pictures on your Mobile Me virtual cloud and have access to you most important files on anybody’s Apple TV. Sounds pretty cool huh, I do think so.
Lets not forget that iTunes is a virtual movie rental store, that has all the latest movies and music. No more late fees, and trips to Blockbuster, only to get there and find that the movie you intended on renting is long gone, and your forced to rent another B movie that has bad acting and terrible sound. Apple is the Cadillac of media and the Apple TV is only gonna make your life easier to manage. The interface is simple and easy to use and is the reason Apple is here to stay.
