2011 NBA Finals: Jason Terry Explodes Mavs Win 2011 NBA Championship
Mark this one down in the record books. Dwyane Wade, Lebron James, and Chris Bosh star power just wasn’t enough to stop Dirk Nowitzki and the veteran Dallas Mavericks from closing the door in game six and winning the 2011 NBA Finals. If you didn’t watch the series you missed one of the greatest finals in the modern era.
Every game has came down to the final shot. A constant back and forth battle between the Mavs and the Heat. Coaching seemed to be the difference in the series with the Mavs coach Rick Carlisle switching to an impossible to score against zone defense that has made the King himself, Lebron James, struggle in the series, forcing him to shoot jump shots, limiting Miami and their love of the lane.
A game that consisted of many ups and down for both teams, the hot shooting of the Mavs and the poor free throw shooting of the Heat was the difference in the game. Jason Kidd and Barea distributed the ball well and made big shots when called upon. Jason Kidd played exceptionally well on defense at the age of 37 he simple was amazing guarding Lebron James and Dwyane Wade most of the series.
The Miami Cartel is gonna have to wait another year for a shot at a championship. This is the NBA Finals and talent doesn’t win championships, it’s the combination of the will to win and talent that wins championships. The Dallas Mavericks simply had the will to win.
Congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks because you are the 2011 NBA Finals Champions.
