After an uneventful off-season that included back and forth negotiations amongst the NFL Players Association and the NFL Owners, the 2011 NFL season is officially in full-effect. What’s new thus far in the 2011 season? For beginners the Indianapolis Colts are 0-9 and are the worst team in the NFL after replacing the injured Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning with the likes of Curtis Painter. It’s getting ugly over here in Naptown.
The second greatest change in the first half of the 2011 NFL season is the emergence of 30-year old running back Willis McGahee acquired in the off-season by the Denver Broncos. McGahee has accumulated 623 yards on only 123 carries for an explosive average of 5.1 yards per carry in after nine games this season. Not bad for a guy who appeared to be on the down slide of his career as a 3rd down goal-line back for the Baltimore Ravens a season ago. He’s come along way since his vicious knee injury in the 2002 Fiesta Bowl. See video below.
But the biggest surprise of the 2011 NFL season thus far is the emergence of a stance that honors God’s favorite athlete, Tim Tebow. He is the second most hated quarterback in the NFL (Michael Vick being number one). Every time you watch the guy play you think to yourself, “What the hell is this guy doing in the NFL?” The answer, “He must have been sent by God as one of ten football disciples.” In comes the art of Tebowing.
After scoring on a game-winning drive against the Miami Dolphins in his first start, Tim Tebow got down into a stance that resembled the “Thinking Man”, but with his head down to honor God. That’s the day Tebowing became a sport amongst spectators. It’s perfect for football fans who weren’t blessed with the skill set of an NFL player, because with Tebowing there is no limit to what can be accomplished, and no muscles are necessary because it’s more of an art than it is sport.
Similar to the art of planking, Tebowing has taken off world-wide and has become a hobby of many across the globe. For more funny Tebowing pics check out Tebowing.com for hilarious examples of Tebowing. It’s not just a sport, it’s an art!
